2017 ringing season on Baikal has begun.

On the third of April we started 6-th ringing season on our station. Baikal is in the ice and still many snow around but much less than last year.

Red-flanked Bluetails (Tarsiger cyanurus), Rustic Buntings (Emberiza rustica) and White Wagtails (Motacilla alba) are already here.

 5^th of April first volunteer Vera arrived. She had been coming here by train from Velikiy Novgorod for 5 days!

Because of snowfall we opened the nets only 5-th of April. For two days we had ringed Coal, Willow and Long-tailed Tits (Parus ater, Parus montanus and Aegithalos caudatus), Red-flanked Bluetail and Reed Bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus).
